Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 1, 2026

Gem Webb ("we", "us") respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in line with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

Information you give us

When you fill out a form on this website, we collect what you enter. On our forms that is your name, business name, email address, phone number (optional) and your message or answers.

We use it to reply to you and to provide the service you asked about. Your submission is stored in our website's database and emailed to us. We keep form submissions for 24 months and then delete them, unless we need them longer to provide a service you asked for or to meet a legal requirement.

We do not sell, rent or trade your personal information.

Information collected automatically

Server logs. Like most websites, our hosting provider automatically records basic technical information for each visit: your IP address, browser type, the pages you requested and the time. These logs are used for security and to fix problems.

Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics to understand how people use this website: which pages are visited, how long people stay, what kind of device they use, their general location (city or region) and how they found us. Google Analytics uses cookies to do this. We use these reports only in summary form, to improve the website, and we do not use them to identify you.

You can stop Google Analytics from collecting information about your visits with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. You can read how Google uses this information at How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Google Ads

We advertise with Google Ads. To measure whether our ads work, Google Ads places a cookie when you click one of our ads, so we can see whether you went on to contact us. We see these results as totals, not as individuals.

We may also use Google Ads remarketing, which lets Google show our ads to people who have visited this website before, on Google search results and on other websites and apps. You can turn off personalized ads from Google in My Ad Center.

Facebook and Instagram (Meta)

We use the Meta Pixel, a tool from Meta Platforms, the company behind Facebook and Instagram. It tells us when people who saw or clicked our ads on Facebook or Instagram visit this website or contact us, and it lets us show our ads to people who have visited this website before.

The Meta Pixel uses cookies and sends information about your visit, such as the pages you view and your IP address, to Meta. Meta handles this information under its own Privacy Policy. You can control the ads you see in your Facebook or Instagram settings, under Accounts Centre, then Ad preferences.

Cookies

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. This website uses:

  • WordPress cookies, only if you log in to the website.
  • Google Analytics cookies (names beginning with _ga), to measure visits.
  • Google Ads cookies (such as _gcl_au), to measure our ads.
  • Meta Pixel cookies (such as _fbp), to measure and show our ads on Facebook and Instagram.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The website will still work, although some features may not. To opt out of interest-based advertising from many companies at once, visit YourAdChoices.ca.

Other services this website uses

Google Fonts. The text on this website is displayed with fonts loaded from Google's servers. To send you the fonts, your browser shares your IP address with Google.

Spam protection. Our forms use a hidden field to filter out automated spam. It does not collect any extra information about you.

Where your information is stored

Our website is hosted by WP Engine, and we use service providers such as Google and Meta. Some of these providers store information outside Canada, including in the United States. While it is there, it is protected by those providers' security measures but is subject to the laws of that country, which may allow authorities there to access it.

How we protect your information

This website uses an encrypted (HTTPS) connection. Access to form submissions is limited to the people who need them to reply to you, and we use reputable providers who protect the information they hold for us.

Email from us

If you contact us, we will use your email address to reply. We will only send you other emails, such as news or offers, if you have agreed to receive them, and every such email will include a way to unsubscribe, as required by Canada's anti-spam legislation (CASL).

Your choices and rights

You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. You can also withdraw your consent to our use of it, although that may mean we can no longer provide a service you asked for. Contact us using the details below and we will respond within 30 days.
